A car awaited her. The driver respectfully opened the rear door and stepped aside.
Stella said warmly, “Goodbye, Mrs. Burke. We look forward to welcoming you to Prosperity Group again.”
Mrs. Burke nodded.
“I’m eager to see your design.”
She slipped into the car, and as the driver closed the door, they began to drive away.
Stella kept her eyes on it until it was out of sight. She then put distance between herself and Matthew.
Avoiding eye contact, she said, “Mr. Clark, if there’s nothing more, I’L return to my work.”
She turned around to leave.

“Stella.” Matthew stopped her.
Stella froze, her nerves tingling.
